Know play to know learning, with no play there is no learning!

Are you a parent/carer or educator searching for play based activities linked to the Australian curriculum and The Early Years Learning Framework? Or unaware of the positive effects of play based learning? This website will provide you with an altered look at childrens play and will present many ideas and opportunities to carry out learning in various environments using a play approach. Learning through play empowers all children with opportunities to use their imagination and creativity to make sense of the world around them.

Environments will promote intentional and unplanned learning to take place.

Reggio Emilia inspired activities foster exploration and discovery.

The Early Years Learning Framework describes play as a context for learning that facilitates learning as it:

• allows for the expression of personality and

uniqueness

• enhances dispositions such as curiosity and

creativity

• enables children to make connections between

prior experiences and new learning

• assists children to develop relationships

and concepts

• stimulates a sense of wellbeing.

"Next time your child comes home empty handed dont ask "Didn't you do anything today?" Because chances are they did a heap but all they know is that they played. . .They don't realise yet how much they learned while they played . . . They simply played. And that is called play based learning"
